Recycled Material and Fused Plastic Collage

We really enjoyed working with St John’s Community Primary on the GoGoCreate project in 2018 and so were delighted to be invited back to design and create a backdrop for the leveret sculpture.  The children learned Japanese embroidery techniques to create scenes from the Broads using recycled materials and fused plàstic.  They collected their crisp packets from lunch which were fused with an iron to make the tree trunk and the silvery, crater-filled moon.  Our theme was the dark skies of Broadland where there is little light pollution and nocturnal animals – like hares – can live without disturbance from constant urban lighting.
